Someday we will laugh about the past two weeks...but, for now, it's still not funny. Okay, who am I kidding??!! Enough with the melodrama. We're already laughing about it all. Stressed, but laughing. Once I got my computer back I was going to write a big, long posting about everything that has happened lately. Now that I have my computer back, though, I just need to GET TO WORK!!! In a tiny, condensed nutshell here are the two major strokes of bad luck that have come our way. I'll spare you the small ones....
-
The INSIDE of our house was sprayed by a skunk and my computer completely CRASHED--in the middle of wedding season when I am booked every single weekend! (Just so you know, that is a photographers worst nightmare come true.) Thanks to a FANTASTIC tech team at Megabyte Computers, I am up and running again! Wahooooo!!!! Thanks Chris and Sean!

As for that nasty skunk encounter, let's just say I'm not sure who I am more upset with, the dog or the skunk! We'll stay away from the "anger" part of the whole thing for now and I'll just tell you what I've learned from the experience.
-
1. Grocery stores are EMPTY in the middle of the night, so if you want to get your grocery shopping done without crowds or long lines, may I suggest that you do it around 4:00 am.
-
2. Scrubbing the walls and siding of your house with baking soda, detergent and hydrogen peroxide and washing your clothes in vinegar really works to get the skunk smell out.
-
3. Always put away your laundry after you wash it. Don't leave it in heaping piles on the dresser in front of the open window where a skunk could walk by and spray. This just means you will have to wash it again--in vinegar. I'm just saying...it could happen!
-
4. Don't tell your husband to "put on a happy face" while you both are scrubbing the skunk smell off the outside of your house and your walls at 5:00 am.
This could come back to haunt you...

Adam: (being very grumpy) "This sucks." grumble...grumble, etc.
Keri: "Look honey, it is what it is. We can either laugh about this or we can be grumpy and argue about it."
Adam: Blank stare at Keri that required no words to interpret.
-
About 30 minutes later I tripped and fell dumping an entire bucket of the above mentioned mixture all over my stomach, legs and feet. I was ticked!
How quickly I forgot my own pep talk...
-
Adam: With a smirky smile, "Look honey, it is what it is. We can either laugh about this or we can be grumpy and argue about it."

HA!!! I had that one coming! :)

Between the two disasters I've lost over a week in working time--so, needless to say, I'm running a bit behind right now. For those of you checking the blog for your pictures...they're coming, I promise! I have a good feeling that our stroke of bad luck has passed. Knock on wood--or skunky siding as the case may be!

yeah, I'm with her, things happen in threes. Here's hoping it's "only" a flat tire or being out of dishwasher detergent :D
I'm so so sorry, I'm laughing here, does that help??
<3
Ohhhhh...no way you two! Don't be wishing more bad luck our way. :) We've already had several other little things go wrong. They would have been considered bad on a normal week, but they just happen to pale in comparison on the week they fell into. We've fulfilled the bad luck in threes a couple times over! ;)
I'm so sorry about your luck as of late! That's terrible! I'm wishing happy thoughts your way!
Hang in there girl...I feel your pain!
